Are you making the most of your garden this summer?
If you think you’re not getting as much out of your garden as you’d like, it may be that you need to get some much-needed work done. It could be that you’ve wanted it to look a certain way for a while and you’re frustrated that it’s not turned out the way you wanted it to. Here at Brian’s Garden and Fencing Services our landscape gardeners in West Lothian know that every customer is different, so we try to treat them as individuals with their own unique requirements. That way, all our customers get exactly what they want and not a carbon copy of something someone else has.
A crack team of gardeners and landscape designers.
We’re lucky really that our team is well qualified, trained and an experienced group of people. They know how to make people feel comfortable and work to different briefs and budgets on a regular basis. We can talk to you on a variety of different aspects of garden maintenance such as how to make the most of your garden space and what type of water feature would work best, if that’s what you’ve set your heart on.
Looking after your garden - weeds
Keeping an eye on weeds can be as simple as pulling them out with a hoe on a regular basis or by hand, and you could also try adding some mulch as well. You don’t have to use chemicals if you don’t feel comfortable about it, and if you have pets you may not want to risk it anyway.
Vegetables
Vegetables can still be planted this time of year, there’s plenty of them that will flourish now such as courgettes, peppers, beans and celery. They’ll love the warmth of the sun and you’ll get the advantage of beautiful homegrown vegetables on your plate.
Flowers and plants
Also consider pruning any flower beds you have to make room for new buds, remove any dead leaves and petals and clear away the areas surrounding them. If you have some flowers from the spring which are now dying off, remove them in case they spread infection throughout your flower bed.
Soil care
Take care of your soil and it’ll take care of your garden. If your soil is in good condition, it’ll pay dividends in time. It’ll need enough nutrients and water to give you what you need, so try to till it gently, and you can also add compost to help it along.
